This Privacy Policy explains what information Labbis (“Labbis”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Labbis apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web game at play.labbis.app, and the website labbis.app (together, the “Service”), and how we use and protect it. By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information you give us
• Nickname and character: the name and character you choose to play with. • Account details (optional): if you create an account, your email address and a password. We store the password only as a one-way hash; we never see or keep it in readable form. • Sign in with Apple or Google (optional): the account identifier that Apple or Google gives us and, if you allow it, your email address and name. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we receive only the relay address. • Game content: the trick answers you write, your votes and the reactions you send during a match. • Social features: your friend list, friend requests, the players you block, and the reports you submit. • Messages: anything you send us by email, including your email address.
2. Information collected automatically
• Game records: the rooms you create or join, matches, rounds, scores, XP, level, coins, unlocked characters and daily-challenge progress. • Device and app data: a guest-session identifier stored on your device, your device platform (iOS, Android or web), app language and app version. • Notifications: if you allow push notifications, a notification token issued by Apple or Google so we can reach your device. • Presence: whether the app is currently open (shown to your friends as “online now”) and when you were last active. • Technical logs: our servers record technical data such as IP address, request times and errors, which we use to run, secure and debug the Service. • Website: privacy-friendly, aggregate visit statistics and one functional cookie that remembers your language. We do not use advertising networks or third-party ad trackers, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
3. How we use information
• To run the game: create and manage rooms, run matches, calculate scores, levels and rewards, and show results and leaderboards. • To provide accounts, friends, online status and notifications. • To keep the Service safe and fair: review reports, detect cheating, spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use. • To maintain, analyse and improve the Service and develop new features and content. • To contact you about your account or the Service. • To comply with legal obligations and to protect the rights, property and safety of Labbis, our players and others.
4. What other players can see
Labbis is a social game. Other players in your room can see your nickname, character, level, your answers and votes once a round is revealed, your score and your reactions. Your friends can see your online status. Your friend code is visible to anyone you share it with. Players you recently played with may see you in their “recent players” list unless you ask us to hide you from those lists by emailing support@labbis.app. Please do not put personal information in your nickname or answers.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: • With service providers that run the Service for us, such as our server and hosting providers, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and Apple and Google (sign-in and app distribution). They may use it only to provide their service to us. • When required by law, regulation, court order or a lawful request from a competent authority. • When we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Labbis, our players or the public, or to investigate fraud, cheating or abuse. • As part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of the Service, in which case the information may transfer to the new owner under this policy. We may also share aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify you, for any purpose.
6. Where information is stored
Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than your own, and your information may be processed there. Those countries may have different data-protection rules. By using the Service you agree to this transfer and processing, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information wherever it is processed.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account or guest profile is active and for as long as needed for the purposes above. When you delete your account, we remove your name, email address, friends and notifications. Matches you played with other people remain part of their game history, shown as “deleted player”. Copies in our backups are overwritten on a rolling basis (normally within about 30 days). We may keep some information for longer where the law requires it, or where it is needed to resolve disputes, prevent abuse or enforce our terms.
8. Your choices and rights
• Change your nickname and character at any time from character selection in the app. • Turn notifications off in your device settings. • Ask us to hide you from other players’ “recent players” lists. • Block players you do not want to interact with. • Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete my data), or by emailing support@labbis.app from the address linked to your account. • Ask us for a copy of, or a correction to, the personal information we hold about you. Where the law of your country (for example, the personal-data laws of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt or another country) gives you additional rights, we will honour them to the extent that law requires. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has given us information, contact support@labbis.app and we will delete it. Users who are 13 or older but under the age of legal majority where they live should use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
10. Security
We protect information with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password and devices secure. To the extent permitted by law, Labbis is not responsible for unauthorised access that results from causes beyond our reasonable control.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version. Where a change is significant, we will give notice in the app or on the website. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
